American Sound pedal

Just got the Caline version of the Joyo American Sound pedal. I believe it's a clone of the Tech 21 Blonde. And experience with it?
I'm running a Peavey Classic 30 and looking for a bit more Fender-ish tone. Pretty noisy in the effects loop. In front of the amp I can't get to unity gain without cranking the levels up into overdrive.
I was hoping to use it as an "always on" pedal and using other boxes for drive.

Peavey Classics have a very inherent Fender voicing to begin with. Before you play with pedals, make sure you have high quality preamp tubes that are fresh and non-microphonic. Get online and find some NOS or ANOS Sylvania 12AX7s for V1 and the subsequent gain stage(s) in the preamp). Put the amp in clean mode and put every knob on 6 to start, tweak EQ and gain/volume from there. Use your guitar's volume to manipulate gain and output volume. That's how the pros and the guys you hear on record have been doing in the studio for decades.
Keep in mind too, you're not going to get great Fender voicings with the amp at bedroom volumes - you have to put some heat on the power section to get the power tubes in pushed mode. NO pedal is going to accurately replicate power amp distortion and that harmonic enrichment phenomenon. Marketing/sales messages are exactly that. You will be throwing money and chasing that rabbit for eons.
If you have to use your 30 watter, you will have better luck using some sort of power attenuation, variac clone or power soak device to safely crank the amp but realize bedroom volumes. Those, too, can generate hiss and noise so be ready for it.
Don't rule out your speaker too. Look at high quality Jensen reissues, C series (C10Q, C12Q), or clones. Speakers have as much, if not more, of a tone-shaping quality as tubes do.

C30 sounds similar to a bassman to my ear, but with more jingle and a big mid-hump. I've got JJs in the power section, and some Sovteks in the preamp. Also a Tone Tubby hemp cone speaker in it. I've played with the pedal more today, and found a pretty sweet tweed-ish driven sound. I've been using a dumbler pedal for overdrive, but I believe this sounds better, much more touch sensitive also.
At home, I've got my amp set up in a small room to use as an iso booth, so cranking it up ain't a problem.

Hao Sole Pressure. If you find the sweet spot you get that sag of a dimed bassman.
