I think most objective critics would concede the genius that are The Joshua Tree Album and Achtung Baby. Maybe Rattle and Hum, too, depending on how you classify it.

But U2 was still at the very top of their game with All That You Can’t Leave Behind, even 20 years into their career. It’s such a tight, sweet, perfectly melodic album that is often overlooked by non-U2 fans. But if you’re looking for a sweet record to throw on and lyrically move you in different directions while still being ear candy, I’d recommend this today. The heart is a bloom, and today, in fact, is a beautiful day. If you want it to be.

I knew this would bring out the haters. And by haters I mean people who aren’t secure enough in their masculinity to either admit they already like U2, or those that won’t even listen to them for fear they will like them and be subject to ridicule by their un-evolved Philistine friends. I don’t give a shite, though, it’s your loss.

U2 is one of the greatest bands of all time. They were the soundtrack to my growing up years. I think they primarily get hated on because of how smug Bono became in his later years. I honestly quit listening to them after Achtung but I will have to give this a listen.

Love the strained vocals of In A Little While. The albums has many moments but I personally like Achtung better

I love them both, but if Inhad to pick 1 for a desert island, it’d be Achtung, too. One, Mysterious Ways, The Fly, Even Better Than the Real Thing—the singles are all great.

But to me, the beauty of that album is in Zoo Station, Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses(my favorite), You’re So Cruel, End of the World, Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World, etc...I mean “ A Woman Needs a Man, like a fish needs a bicycle” is a fricking great line.

The genius of the album is how they went to Berlin, hating each other, thinking about breaking up, but found that riff to One and wound up completely changing their entire sound. While remaining U2.
