Not yet. About to click submit. Had questions for all you degenerates and Fret. I went with his suggestion. Peavey Classic 30. 1x12 model.
Questions are because this is a Guitar Center “Exclusive”? It’s a cream color instead of tweed. And black metal on its corner pieces. Looks nice. Going off the single YouTube vid I could find it is about 8 years old (age of video). It has a Celestion G12 instead of a Blue Marvel speaker.
Basically it’s price and condition were right. So I chose it. I have questions about the speaker and if you guys or All Knowing Fret have any feedback on this, or if there is a particular period to avoid. Did these speakers peak at a certain point and did they tank? I understand brand new ones are Made in China. But this one appears 8 plus years old.
Thanks.

I have a Peavey Ultra tube, 60 watts, 4 x 10 combo. The speakers are Blue Marvels. It's a great amp. It's a real working musician's amp. I don't take it out any more because it's kinda big and my back kinda sucks... Mine is about 15 years or so old, still kicks arse. I don't know how much GC is asking but I would love to get a Peavey Classic 50 or a Classic 30.

I don’t know about brand new. I am only looking used. This one is 4 Bills.

I wouldn't let a subbed Celestion kill the deal if that's what you're asking. It should still sound great. Little more low end and a more pronounced midrange compared to the Blue Marvel, which is more of a vintage Jensen clone.
If you don't like the Celestion, you can sell it and have more than enough to get a clean used Blue Marvel 12. I just found several on Reverb.
Tubes and speakers are super easy swaps, at a sea of price and quality points, and the results are not only readily apparent but pretty predictable on the front end.

Appreciate it fret. Saw the Daphne Blue “porn”. In the other thread. Very nice. Wish you were closer. You’d have probably given all of mine a spa day.
“Sea” is the proper term for speakers. When trying to read reviews. Somebody hates everything. Speakers seem to all have a few more. Lots of Blue Marvel hate. Good to hear there is nothing wrong with those. Since they seem to be a lions share of the stock speakers I find. This one was an outlier. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a dud. Either an upgrade or a 1a vs. 1b comparison.
I’m nowhere near good enough to cork sniff amps. You say it’s good. I’ll bite.
