I think it certainly pays homage to "Diamonds are Forever" (Adele pays homage to lots of artists in her work if you listen closely enough). I really like how the producers incorporated the "Bond Theme" into the song.

Best Bond theme song since Sheena Easton's "For Your Eyes Only", and before that Carly Simon's "Nobody Does it Better".

Madonna's "Die Another Day"?

Duran Duran's "A View to a Kill"?


*Special consideration for Garbage's "The World is Not Enough" which is the best of a horrible bunch from "For Your Eyes Only" to "Skyfall".
