Will Smith is actually a really good actor. He's obviously best suited for a comedian type roll, but he can play an action hero (Independence Day, MIB, Hancock) and pull off serious roles (Pursuit, 7 pounds, 6 degrees, etc.)

He has a lot of depth IMO. He had a lot of depth even in the Fresh Prince, which was, IMO, one of the funniest sitcoms ever.

Enemy of the State, Independence Day, 7 pounds, Pursuit of Happiness, I Am Legend, Legend of Bagger Vance, Men in Black, Ali, and Six Degrees of Separation are all really good movies.

I recently rewatched a few of BBT's other movies, including Pushing Tin and School for Scoundrels. His character in Pushing Tin is awesome. And School for Scoundrels was never meant to be an award winner, but it's actually very enjoyable, party due to him.

I actually prefer him as an action star much more nowadays. His comedies don't do it for me. But I agree, Fresh Prince was money.

I wouldn't call most of those really good. Didn't care for I Am Legend or TPOH much at all.
