Don't know how I feel about this one. McQueen is light years better than Hunnam , who is not a bad actor, but I thought Rami Malek was a better Dega than Hoffman. Some things were missing in this one vs. the original

The original is one of my favorite films. I turned the remake off after about 15 minutes.

Yet another movie that did not need to be remade. Someone started a thread about watching Blade Runner in theater recently. I would rather see the classics cleaned up and shown in a theaters especially during dead times for movies and in the indy theaters.

I love the OG Bladerunner, but a lot of it was style over substance. Decker did 5% detecting and 95% reacting to shite. Most of it was "Look how cool our dystopian LA looks." The sequel had style, AND a story with something much more profound to say, and had the balls to kill the main character. Most will argue it was too slow, but I thought it was wonderfully paced.

I ALMOST turned it off 30 minutes in but I stuck it out. Malek was great. The main problem I had was with Charlie Hunnam as the lead. He was just too John Cena’ish. All that said the scene where he and Makek say goodbye hit me in the feels. They should have ended the movie there.

The new one was okay. Nothing special but it didn't suck either. Never saw the original but it's definitely a good one I need to check out next.
