”A modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson‘s iconic novel, “The Haunting of Hill House” explores a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now adults, and forced back together in the face of tragedy, the family must finally confront the ghosts of their past — some of which still lurk in their minds while others may actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House.”

The Haunting of Hill House” premiers on October 12, the 10-episode series directed by Mike Flanagan (Hush, Oculus, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Before I Wake, Gerald’s Game). The series comes in the wake of two film adaptations: 1963’s The Haunting and 1999’s The Haunting.

I’ll watch anything Mike Flanagan gets his hands on. The guy knows how to make a good scary movie

Part of this was filmed in downtown Marietta, GA at the Whitlock Inn. I believe they reworked the sign to turn it into a funeral home.

Great book. "Modern Reimagining" concerns me though; that usually doesn't translate to good filming.

The original film is a classic. The remake was pretty bad, but at least it followed the plot of the novel for the most part. This version seems to go off in a whole new direction. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I'll withhold judgement until I watch it.
