I've never seen a Harry Potter movie and I wouldn't know the theme if you hit me with it.

I'm not the arbiter of popular knowledge, but I'd guess that people who haven't seen Jaws, Star Wars, and Superman would have a clue if you played those themes for them.

I'm going to add a holiday movie for the list.

Home Alone.

It might not be Star Wars and such, but it is one of the top Christmas movie scores.

Jaws
Imperial March
Indiana Jones

Jaws may be the most recognizable score in the history of entertainment or even beyond. I think you’d be hard pressed to find a couple of notes that elicit more of a universal response than that score does.

This right here. Not a hard question, don’t overthink it.

Many here are probably not familiar with Rosewood, but I loved that score as well.

How important is John Williams to the film industry?

When I think of the best and classic films/shows ever, he's always right there with epic scores.

Back to the Future
Star Wars
Harry Potter
Jurassic Park
ET
Jaws
Superman
Close Encounters
Indiana Jones
JFK
Lost in Space
Saving Private Ryan
Minority Report
Empire of the Sun
Home Alone
Schindler's List

and that's all stuff from the top of my head

I concur. OP said based on impact on the movie, definitely Jaws. The mechanical shark was broken through most of the production, there was supposed to be alot more shark footage. Instead, JW had to fill in the gaps and make the shark present in the film when there was no shark on the screen.

Jaws

Indiana Jones
Star Wars
