Actually, Longshanks was just trying to secure peace in his realm. He's trying to subjugate a rebellion against his rightful authority. He doesn't bring out the heavy guns until Wallace and his crew bring the battle to him. and then he goes all in. Wallace must be completely crushed to secure peace. He even tries, in vain, to teach his son in the ins and outs of statecraft. Hell, he even manages to secure a peace with France, England's traditional enemy, through marriage. I will also submit Bill Lumberg to this game. All he was trying to do was run an efficient office and make sure the damn TPS reports were filed properly. With an office that big, you can't have slackers throwing a wrench into things. Especially with Intertrode trying to steal most of your business, you need to maximize profits and efficiency.
