Here are THR film critics’ favorites from the first half of the year (in alphabetical order).

Leave No Trace

Let the Sunshine In

The Rider

I've only seen Annihilation (great) and BP (meh). Surprised that IW is not on there. What are your best films so far this year?

Leaving "A Quiet Place" and "You Were Never Really Here" off that list is criminal.

Because Jennifer Lawrence can't keep her damn clothes on throughout the movie.

Which is awesome..

black panther was just ok. Annilihation had its moments but it was a bit of a clusterfrick plot wise.

That movie was terrible.

Incoherent plot, terrible acting. Yes the visuals were amazing but the story sucked.

Not sure why people think this is such a great film. Incredibly boring, and not he least bit scary or suspenseful.

Black Panther wasn't even the best Marvel movie of 2018, much less movie period.

Annihilation is #1 so far for me. Also agree, IW and Deadpool 2 easily top Black Panther.

Haven't seen anything yet this year worth mentioning. Only one I've seen on that list is Hereditary. I saw A Quiet Place and it didn't wow me, either.
