Season 4 is a great season which feature some of the best episodes in the series. The first two episodes of the fourth season are the best ones in my opinion.

At times should have been called the left wing
At least in this show, it is about a liberal president so the left slant makes sense.

Unlike Newsroom where a conservative spends his whole time attacking only his party.

They also did a good job of showing good guys from both parties and even showed bad guys on the dem side willing to hold off on passing legislation with bipartisan support so they could attack repubs in the elections.

Only a few evil Repubs. Haffley and Marsh. A couple other minor evil repubs.

I would have liked to see the Santos years with Arnie advising him on foreign matters.

I don't agree that the show fell off that much after Sorkin left and I don't have any problem with what happened with Toby. It makes sense that Toby would do what he did.

You can't dispute anything I said.

I love how all of you Newsroom knuckleheads continue to answer NONE of my complaints about the show yet just latch on to the political points I make which are valid.

If I was so concerned purely about politics then why is the West Wing one of my favorite shows all time? Perhaps because Newsroom is a pile of crap?

I agree with everything you said here.

And, I also do not like Newsroom.

West Wing was the perfect TV show. Going to watch an episode now.

My husband just discovered this not too long on Netflix as well. He finished every episode in less than 2 months He loved it and actually looked depressed after watching the final episode.

I didn't keep up with it, but watched a couple episodes, seemed good.

Bump this to say that I just started Season 2. Season 1 was good, but Season 2 is OUTSTANDING! the first two flashback episodes are some of the best of the series.

The cast just plays off of each other perfectly.

Well other than Mandy. I hated her.

I loved the first 3 seasons of West Wing.

Martin Sheen is one of the few actors big enough to grab that role. The initial premise of the show was suppose to focus more on Sam (Rob Lowe) but Sheens character was a too compelling. I think it's why Lowe left the show eventually.

I believe this has been said before, but all politics aside, the show is just written and cast so well.

I wouldn't say it is a liberals wet dream. It doesn't portray conservatives in a poor light other than Haffley.

Shows the bad side of politics with the Dems being bad on several occasions. Josh crushing smaller players.

Refusing to pass a partisan bill because it is too close to the elections.

Oh ok. They did make Brolin super weak. Crime, I don't know. Bush wouldn't have said something so stupid. Anyone who really knows Bush knows he would have said something more sincere at that moment to Bartlett and Richie was clearly a jab at Bush. So that was a tad weak, but for the most part there were plenty of positive conservatives.

Plus Ainsley.

I remember watching this show in our history class in high school before the show even ended. I don't really remember much of it though other than Bradley Whitford(Eric Gordon) and Martin Sheen. Is it really that good? I'll have to check it out.

If you like politics then yes.

Well written and superbly acted. Lots of humor and drama.

I like the series to the end but the last season had some plot twists that I didn't find believable.

Kiss the black haired annoying broad goodbye in season one...she lacked the chemistry with the rest of the ensemble. CJ is the diamond of the show.. At first I was like "meh" about her..but she (played by Allison Janey) became the strongest of the show bar-none (reason why she won an arse load of Emmy's for that role). The show was brilliantly written and as it goes on, it just soars above so many other political drama's. Also loved how the final 2 seasons you couldnt help but like the heck out of Alan Alda and Jimmy Smits, and Mary MaCormack. Truly one of televisions greatest series ever made winning a total of 26 Emmy awards.

Season 7 got better with the election. The scene with Sheen and Alda in the White House with the ice cream... just perfect acting. I can watch so many of those episodes all the time and they never get old.
