I've seen him discuss the possibility of a return in interviews. He never seemed sold on the idea but it could make for an amazing final episode.

Just saw this weeks episode. Made me understand the picture.
I get sad at series finales. I couldn't imagine being on set for the final day of filming. I'd probably tear up for a show I never even watched.
