I thought for sure that we had a thread on this but Google can't find it.

This a great "small" film from Spielberg. Judd Hirsch and David Lynch battle it out for best scenes.

Strong cast and Gabriel LaBelle does great work as the young Speilberg stand-in.

Kudos to Speilberg for getting a subdued, normal performance out of the well-cast Seth Rogen.

Saw this over the weekend. Really fantastic little movie.

The last 10 minutes with the David Lynch cameo and the final shot might be my favorite ending to a movie in a while. Scene of the year.

There were a couple of "breaking the 4th wall" moments, and Spielberg is such a master film maker that you can love it without the slightest inclination to roll your eyes.

I really didn't know what to expect when this movie was announced but wow I was impressed. I was fearful it was going to be another "pat myself and Hollywood on the back" kinda stories but wow he really pulled it off.

Now, I don't really know if I would like it as much if the main character is supposed to be someone else. I mean, it would still be a very good movie but Spielberg definitely adds a bit of magic.

Spielberg has put out a lot of dreck lately so i don't feel bad that his quality movie is tanking big time. 40million cost w/ a 13 million box office. Ouch.
