Nah, I'm good. I actually like the non-Dark Tower Dark Tower books better than the actual Dark Tower books. My favorite is probably Hearts in Atlantis.

The Sisters of Eluria. It's OK, nothing great. I also liked Insomnia and Black House.

AICN is reporting that Christian Bale is the current front runner to play Roland.
I'm surprised he would want to get bogged down in this series.

I like how AICN is feeling Timmy also!

Yeah but they make the argument against Bale that he isn't grizzled enough which can just as easily be said about Tim.
Liked him in Deadwood but hated him in the Diehard movie.
I haven't seen him in his other show.
I wouldn't be against him as Roland, just pointing out that neither Bale or Olyphant have age worn western grizzling.

Scratch the Bale.....
CHUD is reporting Bardem has been offered the job.
Not sure how I feel about that.

So this is going to be a series of movies and not regular TV? There is a possibility if movies. Television, and I just see another Stand or It type of product.
This story is too big for TV or ONE movie.
Even some of the Dark Tower books are too big to fit into one "normal" length 2 hour film.

Movie, then series, then movie, then series then final movie is the format or so it says in the last article I read on the matter.

I would take Bale, Viggo, then Bardem in that order. I could see Bardem playing The Man In Black

So has there been movement on the project? I know there has been the Ron Howard announcement, but is there any timeline for filming yet?

They say it will be in theatres in may 2013

I think Bardem is not the man to play Roland. Out of all the actors mentioned, I though he was the one I didn't want to get the part. I do like the suggestion of him playing the man in black...He would be fantastic as the man in black. What about Russel Crowe as Roland? He could pull it off...

There are no more what abouts.
The job has been offered to Bardem. It is in his ball court now.
Heck, he may decide he doesn't want to be bogged down in doing this for the next 8 years or however long it is going to take.
