No he isn't. He makes alliances and breaks them when he realizes that the others are voting a different way. He appears to be a mastermind because he makes it look like these votes are his idea (they seldom are). Russell is an opportunist but he isn't in control as he claims.
Truth.
He's been a stronger player this season IMO (bullying Jerri to vote Danielle, conning JT, althought JT just did that to himself without Russell even doing anything because he just assumed the all girl alliance), but he was TERRIBLE in the first season. He would have been voted off three straight weeks if it weren't for those bullshite idols. Everyone knew exactly what he was up to, but couldn't vote him off. That's why he didn't win.
This year, the move to give Parvati the idol was an AWFUL move. He was going home if Tyson hadn't switched his vote. And he had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA that Tyson was doing that. He assumed they were all voting for Parvati, but Rob had Russell figured out and split the vote. Had Tyson not been the douche that he is, Russell wouldn't have made it to the merge.
And that is with a HUGE advantage going into this season because no one had seen Russell's season before shooting this. They had no idea how he played even though everyone else's game was already known. He could have coasted in the villians and then made a big switch to the Heroes and no one would have suspected him, but his ego is too out of control and he took on Rob, which made him the center of attention too early.
Dude has the biggest Napolean complex I've ever seen. His whole game is basically bullying girls. Funny too that he's thought he had Parvati wrapped around his finger all year when clearly she was just using him.
No way he wins the vote. I wonder if he'll actually cry this year at the finale because he sure came close last year.

Please stop smoking crack!
Yeah so terrible, he was the first player to ever realize you could look for an idol without the clue.
He got to the finals. He did what he needed to do to get there and he made some smart moves.
The main thing that kept him from winning was that he told everyone he was a millionaire and some whinny bitches were so butthurt they voted for someone that didn't deserve it.
One could argue that everyone else had an advantage because they knew each other. They had played with each other before, even had alliances in some cases. Some were even friends outside the game.
Plus he was stuck with the Villains. Not as if nobody had a clue how he would act.
I think he was clearly more in charge last season. This season, he only thought he was in charge. It was pretty much Pavarti.
Not to say he didn't make some good moves this season because he did, but he hasn't really be in charge for several weeks.
The guy is definitely a misogynist. I am surprised his wife speaks to him. Proof he probably does have plenty of cash.
I lost all respect for his game when he begged to buy the title last season. That was just lame.
I still think he is easily top 5 players all time in the game. He could probably be number 1 if he ever learned to hold his ego and temper in check.
