Love it. Left the theater and went to sound warehouse to buy the soundtrack.

Manhunter was a great 80’s movie. I really liked the way they delved into the detective side of it with Peterson trying to get in the head of the killer and finally tracking him down. Plus the visuals and use of music were classic Mann.

I liked Manhunter a lot and it is better than Red Dragon, but The Silence of the Lambs is nearly perfect.

This is one of those trying to be edgy and stand out from the crowd takes. Yes Manhunter is a very good film, but Lambs is an alltime classic

Why must you assume it’s an affectation? People have legitimate differences in tastes.

Manhunter is more stylistically interesting than Lambs. Petersen’s Will Graham is a hot mess mentally speaking. Like Michael Keaton’s Batman, you are constantly on edge because you think he might become a killer himself.

Also, the production design and musical score of Manhunter is more entertaining than the drab look of Lambs.

I do think Manhunter sags a bit during its third act, which is heavily changed from the novel. Lambs’ third act is superior, but I still put Manhunter on top overall.

Idk about better, but it's closer than I would have thought. I liked cox' lector. WP definitely gave off that vibe where if one thing would have gone differently in his life, he'd be the one they were after.

I had no idea this movie existed until I saw it referred to on here. Glad I made an effort to find it. For now, I'm ranking it slightly behind silence, but over time it could usurp it
