It was so obvious that Harrison Ford wasn't into doing the movie that it came out in his acting. Same with Karen Allen. That's what absolutely ruined the movie.
It wasn't so much the storyline as it was like seeing your favorite band from 30 years ago, getting all pumped up on the 1st song, and 4 songs deep into the set getting so let down and depressed at how they've lost it over the years, that you end up walking out on the show. That's how I felt when the ending credits were rolling. Still love the score though, at least that hasn't changed.

I somewhat agree with that. I didn't like the whole alien thing, but mainly how they did it...not because it was aliens.
But I had FAR more gripes with that movie than it being about aliens in the end....far more.

The alien plot was the least of the problems with the script, acting and direction.

Seeing Howard the Duck on the pinball machine makes me laugh out loud every time.
