I had no idea who this was, so I looked it up.

I do not think a movie about this character could be good.

Madame Web is supppsed to be an old woman. No offense but I have no intention of watching a comic book movie where the lead character is an elderly person.

Sometimes they surprise you.

I’ve never heard of Madame Web, but I could see why they wouldn’t want to do Spider Woman. To the average person, Spider Woman might seem like just a lazy female knockoff of Spider-Man.

I'm not sure she counts as a "Spider-Man" property. Didn't she originate in Avengers comics?

ETA: Spider-Woman started in "Marvel Spotlight." The iteration I'm most familiar with started in "Marvel's Secret Wars" in the 80s. I'm not sure Sony has the rights to that character.

Don't think they do. Feel like I remember that from the whole shared universe discussion.

Sounds like one of those "girl's only" movies that inevitably bombs and everyone wonders why no men wanted to see it

Is there a way I can short this project from an investment perspective? Sheesh.

Yup. She even kicks up the pretentiousness a notch with that scarf so elegantly thrown around her neck

Oh ok. Then that answers that question.

WGAF? The Marvel/DC garb is so watered down already. There is no no way I get hyped for half of their shite.

Stick to DeadPool and more epics that do not have SJW themes and they will probably increase their fanbase by 30%.

I don’t know anything about this lady and maybe she’ll do a good job, but I really don’t like her glasses

Or they can just light money on fire. Will have the same success as birds of prey or Electra.

Either way, getting a female-driven property in Sony’s Marvel Cinematic Universe has always been a top priority for studio brass

Looooool. Sony ladies and gentlemen.

Latest rumor is the character Jackpot-a mom with superhuman abilities.

Not MJ-who famously said “face it tiger, you just hit the jackpot.”

From Jackpot's wiki page:

quote:

Alana decided to have a crush on Spider-Man, to mask her sexuality and wanted to be like him; she later was revealed to be a lesbian

So yes, I can confirm it will be her.

I believe there are 2 different characters, the original Sara is a mom, the second one is lesbian and she dies, so the first one returns.

Honestly the Spider-Man corner of Marvel gets a little odd.

Yes, but come on now. Which one is more likely to be the lead of any such movie:

1. Mom who gives up being a superhero for her family life

or

2. Lesbian drug addict

Let's be real here.
