Why did the dude flip out when Jerry brought in some outside maple syrup? WGAS? It's not affecting the restaurants bottom line in any way. Always bugged me.

I'm with you. It felt like one of the few lazy jokes the show had. It happens quite a bit on Curb. Larry is usually right, but everyone knows he just can't do what he is doing in society. However, there are a few situations where Larry is 100% right, and the people against him make absolutely no sense.

Because they can get sued up the wazzu if Jerry chokes on the Maple.

Every restaurant has this policy... No outside food or drink.

Liability on premises...so establishments need to control what is served.

What on earth are you talking about.

Literally tons of restaurants that don’t serve alcohol will allow ppl to bring in their own.

I’ve literally witnessed people bring out their own salad dressings

In short you are WRONG

Last season of Curb, it really bugged me about how everybody bitched at Larry about giving their weight. It was required by the pilot for safety, and everybody just got mad at Larry. I mean, do you want to die in a fricking plane crash because you were spiteful for having to give your weight? Besides, Larry was the one who organized the whole thing, show some fricking gratitude.

For the legal reasons mentioned earlier, but also you don’t want other customers asking why one table has something that they cannot get.

It’s why restaurants are hesitant to split salads on two plates, or to make something off the menu when, “you have the ingredients in the kitchen anyway.” Besides the disruption in the kitchen you have people asking for the Small Big Salad or the onion rings that aren’t on the menu, but they see being served at the next table.
