Josh Brolin would be great as Joel. Second pick would be Viggo Mortensen.

Mark Boone Jr, that's a great pick.
The more I think about it though they would probably cut Bill and his town out, nothing really crucial to the story happens there and they only pass through so they can get a vehicle.
I agree with what Totes said earlier, that it's going to be hard to satisfy people who played the game because they are going to have to cut a lot out.
I think it would be awesome if they did a True Detective-style 8 episode season for it. They could even work in the DLC stuff, flashing back to Ellie before she meets Joel.
