Pervert or not, it seems that the judge acted inappropriately in his sentencing. (Forcing both prosecution and defense into backroom deals and then reneging on his promises.)

The victim has forgiven him and has no problem with him returning to the U.S.

He reneged on a deal he should never have made. What I don't understand is how the statute of limitations has not passed on the crime.

I don't care if the girl forgave him. Dude had sex with a 13 year old. He drugged her up and screwed her brains out. I have ZERO sympathy for him.

I did however find the documentary interesting, but he was a pervert that should have done serious time.

If that was your daughter you would still want his nuts in a vice grip.

I wish that he had gone before a more sensible judge who would have done the right thing and sentenced him from the start.

I wish that he had done his time with the rest of the perverts.

I don't agree with a judge sentencing someone, and then after finding out that public opinion is against him, attempting to give a second sentence.

I looked up the answer to the "statute of limitations" question.

That is not an issue as he agreed to a plea and was convicted of a felony. He skipped town before the sentencing. I forgot about that.

Once again, I agree it was mishandled, but I have zero sympathy for Polanski. 13 dude. And drugged on booze and Quaaludes.

I feel so sorry for the rich guy that still got to direct and live a rich life in Paris.
