Having Star Wars stories without Jedi is like having lord of the rings without wizards.
This is a shitty analogy.

Star Wars, the OT, resonated with people precisely because it played into traditional tropes that have been around ever since people started telling stories.
Hero on the verge of manhood with no life experience but tremendous potential: Luke
Young man who plays by his own rules but has a good heart: Han Solo
Beautiful princess who the hero needs to rescue: Leia
Wise old man who imparts wisdom to hero, helping him learn to become a man and fulfill his potential: Obi Wan, and later Yoda
Fearsome, thoroughly evil, seemingly invincible bad guy: Darth Vader, and later the Emperor
Immensely powerful weapon that the bad guy plans to use to gain victory: Death Star
If you had no idea what Star Wars was, and I gave you the above information, you could construct a general outline of how the story would go just based on that, because it is a story that is familiar to us. That's why it works. That's also why the prequels don't work as well, because the story Lucas tried to tell in them doesn't contain those familiar elements. And that's definitely why the sequel trilogy doesn't work, because the filmmakers went out of their way to "subvert the tropes," thus proving that they have no idea what draws people to Star Wars in the first place, and also that they are suffocatingly arrogant idiots.

Give me an X-Wing TV Series based off the books that shows Wedge building Rogue Squadron back up or Wedge building Wraith Squadron.
I've been wanting that since reading the books decades ago.

Disney is to Star Wars what McDonald's is to a meal.

I agree with you. I want to see light sabers and Jedi duels. I think most people agree, bc most people are casual fans who enjoy the movies and haven’t read the books.
