Here's the alternate "police" ending (that I didn't see at Rave in Baton Rouge): LINK
*Might not wanna' watch that if you haven't seen the movie yet*
Pay particular attention to the door down the hallway throughout the ENTIRE clip.

Are you referring to the light coming on and then turning off?
I'm not sure I get the point of that.

That's a less-than-subtle moment; I think that only servers to remind us that you-know-who is still there.
But, re-watch it again. Pay close attention to it (and the sound) the split second before the cops do their thing.

I can't hear anything.
Not sure what you are referring to.

Saw this movie last night and thought it was absolutely terrible. There was not a single moment that scared me at all. All it was was a couple fighting over some dumb shite going on, she kills him, then its over. I resent the fact that I spent $9.25 to see this garbage.

very overrated IMO...not scary at all. its more of a movie that makes you scare yourself. my ending was the same as yours though fwiw

Watch the door at the end of the hallway (the one where the light came on/off while she was sitting on the floor next to the bed)). As the cops approach the bedroom doorway, you see Katie get up off the floor and approach them asking for Michah.
Right as she's just outside the doorway (right before she's shot), you can see & hear the door in the other room slam shut. I can be supposed that this noise/event (combined with Katie approaching them with the knife) is what spurred the shooting to occur. In fact, after Katie is down on the ground, notice one of the policemen backs up down the hallway & peeks into the very room where that door slammed.

also when the cops shine their light up towards that door you can see a shadow of a human like figure around that door.

heard this movie is really scary, true or false?
Big time false.
Posted on 10/24/09 at 4:45 pm to Volvagia
Not false. Clearly it scares some people and does not scare others.
If you found Blair Witch scary, I think you will find this scary.

its scary if you let the movie take you along for the ride and are not one of those "BRUCE WILLIS IS A GHOST!!!" halfway through the movie types.
the screener on the internet has the cop ending. i took the light turning on and off as the point in which the demon leaves her.

I see this rapidly turning into a battle of semantics, but:
If you know someone who is afraid of a cotton ball or some cute puppy, would you describe those things to others as scary?
As I stated in my other thread on this topic, the only people who really can find this scary are those who have some degree of difficulty of separating reality from fiction. Case in point: the vast majority of the scared response I have heard isn't to a particular event in the film, but rather to the effects of the film after the person goes home.

That is just stupid. Based on separating reality from fiction, you would not be able to enjoy ANY movies as they are all fiction.
The statement was stupid on the other post and it is now even more moronic as you have now repeated the stupidity.
Guess you hated Star Wars because there is no such thing as a death star.

FWIW, I loved hearing everyone walking out of the theather wondering/asking if this movie was real.
"Yeah. They're going to show a man brutally murdered on film and broadcast it for millions to see in a money-making film."
The girl infront of me looked like she felt pretty stupid after I said this outloud.

Did I say the movie wasn't/couldn't be enjoyable?
I said it wasn't SCARY, especially not to the point as to cause folks to literally lose sleep over.
Slight difference.
But nice try trying to twist it into something that it is not.

No you said this.
Based on that statement it would be impossible to find any work of fiction scary. Per your own statements only nutjobs with a loose grasp on their sanity will find the movie scary.
I'm not twisting anything. Just showing you how utterly stupid your comment is.
It's a freaking horror movie. It is not supposed to be realistic. Based on your brilliant statement, how about you let the rest of us in on some movies you find scary. Sure hope they are realistic.

This is true. I got over being afraid of things that don't exist at 7.

Yep.
It is one thing to have scary moments in a movie from a surprise....but the fear that the was referred to in this movie was situational and people were applying it into their own lives.
If that is not blurring fantasy with reality, how the frick would you describe it.
Also, note that I am not referring to edge on the seat tension on behalf on the characters either.
Scared/afraid is solely an individual response.

So taking my opinion and replacing the word "scary," with "enjoyable" and inferring from this new concocted statement that my stance must be that no enjoyment can come from any form of fiction is not twisting anything huh?
I see why you took the comment against "people who have trouble separating fantasy and reality" close to heart.

Thanks for proving yourself to be a douchebag.
Where is your list of scary movies? If you are incapable of being scared by ANY movie then perhaps you have emotional issues.
And perhaps nobody should give a frick about your opinion.
