I’m getting a little tired of paying $200/month for cable and internet through Cox because I’ve been watching more and more Netflix. I’m looking into other options with interest in YouTube TV. I only really care about basic CBS, ABC/ESPN, NBC, FOX and not much else. Anyone doing this and saving money and not missing cable?

well an antenna alone should get you cbs, abc, nbc, and fox.

so that should take care of that.

you can subscribe to a cheap service to stream some other channels like espn. i won't say who the best is there.. (sling, youtube tv, directtv now, etc) but also if you actually know someone with cox cable they can create a free email for you to use as a login and you can get espn and stuff. that's what i do with my friends and family and it's legal, i am allowed up to 8 different e-mail accounts to create.

i wish i could get rid of cable as well, because i can just stream it all.. however, i live with my family and they are so use to cable tv in all their rooms.

Try out the antenna first before cutting the cord. I tried, and all I could get were a few crappy channels in Spanish (Houston area). None of the network channels came in clear.
