He's the best musician on the show. At the end of the day, singers are a dime a dozen. I'll take someone that can write their own music as opposed to someone who is going to be the puppet of a producer their entire career.

I didn't disagree with him. They basically get a free week because of the criminal giant and there was a sharp dividing line between these seven and everyone else. The show Tuesday was one of the best of the season, why not continue it one more week?
And that's not the first time they cut someone off during the save. I want to say they did the same thing with Michael Lynch back in Season Nine.

I really wasn't that shocked that she ended up bottom three. Just by gauging the pulse of the people who write blogs and write on idol themed message boards, Sanchez is not regarded as a likable person.
This competition is all about appeal to people. It hasn't really been based on talent alone all the time. Sanchez can sing but she has an attitude about her that really isn't going to appeal to the younger teenage girls that vote in droves. She is in trouble.
I have no idea at this point who will be in the final. That keeps the show interesting to me.

) Skylar will probably last at least close until the end. She has been performing well and she has a built in country fan base.
I don't see Phillips lasting too much longer. All his songs sound the same. He seems to have plateaued.
Colton will definitely last deep until the end.
I don't know how to read Ledet. I like the guy but his gospel style singing doesn't do it for me.
I still am annoyed by the judges last night. I disagree that they were worse for deandre. I don't think that is the case. J lo was the one that pushed deandre the most. But with Sanchez, all three of them are all in for her and to hell with what America thinks attitude.

We actually think opposite on this. I really wasn't a fan of the performances over all this past week. Some were solid but it wasn't one of the strongest overall IMO.
I think the Whitney Houston/Stevie Wonder theme week for the top 13 was the best overall of the season so far.

I'm not really going based on performances. Elise doesn't have as strong of a built in fanbase as hollie. But you never know week to week how the votes will go at this point in the show. Last season, no one expected Haley Reinhart to last as long as she did. It was because she really had a strong fanbase to keep her in.

You are probably right. Just a personal bias of mine. I like having someone to be a fan of when I watch these types of shows. Definitely all in with her right now. And I was a little jealous when Seacrest gave her that fan mail of someone asking her out

Yeah. I definitely think Phillip has hit a wall. He really can't be in much longer. But you never know with the votes.

You are right with this analysis.
Im having a problem seeing how Colton will fit in once he is on his own. I question his commercial appeal but I am enjoying his performances on the show.
Skylar will be in country. No doubt about it. She is better than Lauren Alaina IMO.
Jessica has a great voice but I am also unsure of her marketability.
Ledet definitely can sing. But his style isn't something that appeals to the majority of mainstream America.

They cut Casey Abrams off last year after he sang like 2 notes. Then Pia got the boot the next week and they were SOL.

Am I the only one who loves Skylar & wants her to win? 
On Elise, I've never liked her, but I really don't like that she keeps doing songs that Haley did last year. Haley was my favorite last year, and it seems that Elise is trying so hard to be like her. Maybe she thinks that since Haley was always in the bottom three & survived to the top 3, that she should sing the songs that Haley sang to keep her in the competition.

My dream scenario would have been if they stupidly saved deandre last week. And then this week two had to go home and deandre and Jessica were the bottom two.
I think I would have thrown a party and then did this all night.

I knew they wouldn't save him because only JLo was gaga for him. The other two stopped riding his nuts after Hollywood.
This is probably the best top 7 in the show's history though. Not that I like all of them, but they are all talented and diverse.

Wouldn't mind Skylar winning, but I also wouldn't mind Colton or P-squared. The rest are definitely second tier to those three.....
