Yeah I don’t think she’s expected to return this is more of a Daniel Craig franchise

Edward Norton has joined the cast now
This is getting better and better, hope they have a good script to keep it all together

I legit enjoyed the first one, but I'm having a hard time seeing it setup any kind of sequel. It's not like Daniel Craig's character is some kind of RDJ-style Sherlock-esque figure.
Hollywood needs to stop making sequels the moment a movie makes any money. Sometimes they make sense, but other times *cough Avatar cough* they're such painfully obvious money grabs without a lick of originality.

Sherlock had a lot more going for his "non-detective" moments, like the fight scenes, disguises, etc. Sherlock was more like Batman in the movies, which helped make it work.

I mean they are different characters but it’s not hard to see where they can find material for sequels in a movie about a famous detective
This is basically a new spin on the Hercule Poriot character/books/movies. Quickly detective solves mysteries involving a large ensemble of characters.
It’s a very underserved genre, idk how you can complain that this is just another lame sequel/unoriginal idea; while also complaining that the main character isn’t more like Sherlock Holmes or Batman

Oh, don't get me wrong - it's not a complaint. More like a lack of assumption that current writers can make it work like it did in the first movie.
I am happy to be proven wrong.

The canvas is wide open for these. They didn’t really create any lore and the plot is set up where you only need 1 character to come back for any sequels
I’d argue it’s much hard to write a compelling plot for like a Star Wars or Fast and the Furious sequel than it will be to write one for this. And that’s not a diss, just an advantage it has over the “world building” type of franchises. There’s no expectation or history to live up to
Write a good mystery story and the movies likely going to be really good. The first one wasn’t carried by action, so I don’t see why any sequels would need to.

Who will Joseph Gordon-Levitt be in his voiceover cameo is the biggest question at this point.

Deals like this make me feel like I'm wasting money on Netflix. This definitely isn't content that interests me.
Deals like this just ensures that Netflix will be increasing their price

The price will go up no matter what. Not many products in existence that are the same price point since their inception.

the only thing I didn't like about the first one was Daniel Craig's fake southern accent

yeah I didn't read through the entire thread and see it - I saw it somewhere else.
