Actually life in the US is pretty easy vs some of the places outside the states. I know because I grew up in one of them.

Cockfighting is brutal. I agree. However, these roosters are privately owned and the owners can do as they wish as long as they don't interfere with my rights. My feelings are irrelevant to the issue.

Everytime a person goes to popeyes, a chicken gets killed. Sure, it for consumption. What about when you buy shoes or a fancy handbag? What a hunting animal for the
purpose of sport? Does those human desires of materialistic shopping and hunting for sport have higher priority than people who watch cockfighting? All these result in dead animals so I don't see the logic in your outrage.

How was it disturbing?

I just saw that episode yesterday and the cocks just jumped at each other a couple of times and they cut away.

I'm not outraged. I am saddened.

I have lots of complicated thoughts on this issue. It's suffice to say I strongly don't believe in the ownership of living things. Other than fulfilling our base needs, I don't see how we have the right to impose our will on animals for the hell of it. Pets are a more complicated issue, but the constant abuse we shell out to animals in our farms is cruel. I don't know the answers to that but I know wrong when I see it. I don't understand the need for people to dominate everything around them. I guess I'm a hypocrite because I'll be eating all sorts of shite tomorrow, but nonetheless....

And FWIW, I also don't believe in zoos or aquariums.

They exist, I've seen them.
