It really doesn't play on tv all that much. I'd also be willing to bet that most people 35 and under have never even seen it.

I saw it at The Robinson Film Center a couple of years ago. I've never been more disappointed in a movie in all my life. It's a cultural icon, and for the life of me I don't know why. I thought it was terrible, both writing and acting. I'm led to think it's the writing, because I enjoyed Dean in Giant. none of the actions-NONE-of them made any sense to me. it's like the characters did and said things just because it was on the paper. It was never "B happened because of A", it was "A happened and then B happened". yeah, i mad,

I meant "over-played" as in built-up. He had died before it was released.

I think that angle hypes the film.

Maybe for some people but hype shouldn't really have any effect on whether you like a movie or not.

It should be one of my favorite films (and I've seen it a lot) because of Natalie Wood - but, it's just not that great IMO.

I've seen it a lot too because Nicohlas Ray is my favorite director and his direction is the best part of the film.

Most people think of if it as just a teen angst movie but it's more than just that. Like most of Ray's works it deals with alienation and loneliness.

Blew my mind when I found out she was the little girl in Miracle on 34th Street.

Did The Wag kill her? Christopher Walken's crazy (though awesome) arse being in attendance makes the whole thing creepier, too.

Was with my Mom when we saw it on the news and the first thing out of her mouth was, "I knew that bastard Wagner did it". And to think all along I thought my mother just had an irrational hatred of Robert Wagner.
