I was responding in more general terms, not just GoT. Just because a show or movie follows a book to a T doesn’t mean the movie or show is great.

I think people who binge watch it all the way through are much less disappointed than those who spent years watching it play out.
I never saw an episode until 5 weeks ago and I am in season 7 episode 5. I am not disappointed at all. I think the people who were diehards from the start had so much time between episodes and seasons to think about the GOT world that it ended up not meeting their endgame expectations.
Watching it all very quickly doesn’t allow for that type of contemplation.
I haven’t read the books yet but I did buy them last week along with Fire and Blood. I am reading Fire and Blood first to get the 300 year history of the post Aegon I conquest. Want to read the backstory before I get into the books that the series was based on.
