Midsomer Murders

I like them. They have something like 14 seasons, so there is certainly an appeal to a British audience. My wife, who is a bigger fan, has this to say:

Midsomer Murders are very enjoyable. The setting of a pretty English village, sharply drawn characters, the comical banter of Inspecter Barnaby and Sgt Troy, all tied together with Caroline Graham's truly wicked sense of humor makes for a fun mystery entertainment. Note--the few shows adapted from the author's actual books are the best.

MM appeals more to people who enjoy British mysteries and I'm not too sure how many of those are involved here.

I would recommend Poirot if you like these. David Suchet (the bad guy in Kurt Russell's Executive Decision) is a great actor who is the definitive Poirot. You will have a hard time believing he is the same actor. I like the earlier 1 hr shows best best as they are presented in a more light hearted humorous way and there is a continuing cast of characters and I love the classy art deco architecture.
