Chevy Chase got into a fight w/Bill Murray (egged on by Belushi), He later did the show at least once, in the mid '80s, when he suggested having the show's phag cast member "die" of AIDS on the air*. The latter made a big fuss in objecting, but it wasn't really a "fight".
*Similar to Michael O'Donoghue's earlier idea to have 80 yr old host Ruth Gordon "die" during her opening monologue.

The fight that took out Chevy was him and Cheri Oteri in 1996-1997.
Why someone of Chevy’s size felt the need to get physical with a woman who is probably 5’ flat, I don’t know.
