Still a little too creepy. In fact, a younger guy might make it feel creepier.

Any Kevin Costner movie with any other actor.

Specifically talking about Costner long form dramas (Dances, Robin Hood, Wyatt Earp, The Postman, ect) you would turn them into different movies. Costner plays the everyman, someone in between the modern viewing audience and someone who could exist in an all out authentic version of the universe portrayed in film.

He should have never tried the accent in Robin Hood at all, he should have just talked normal through the whole movie.

Replace Olive Oil in The Shining with any of these:

Jessica Lange, Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Angelica Huston, or maybe even Kathy Bates.

Great thriller, but she was out of her league with the likes of Jack Nicholson and the Scatman.

The Shining

Good call.

The Shining came out in 1980.

Julie Christie would have been interesting as a fish out of water - play up her British side.

Duvall and Jack don't play off each other at all...there is zero connection. She's already a weak puppet and he's already basically crazy...or at the very least...hates her dopey guts.

Julie Christie would have provided some intellect/hotness to the role back then.

Maybe Kubrick wanted us to cheer for Jack?
