meh...Drapers my hero, If I had to come home to betty and her barbie doll attitude every evening...I'd probably find me a skank in Manhattan too.
pretty crappy characteristics to seek in a role model.
SPOILERS BELOW**
Betty is certainly not the only one at fault, but she even tried to resurrect their marriage after she knew Don cheated on her with Bobbie. hence her wanting to accompany him to Italy. it was a last ditch effort at reigniting the romance with the man she initially fell in love with.
and i can't say i blame her for fricking the rando in the bar either. she's not very good with dealing with deception and heartache.

If you rewatch season 5 when Don drops off Betty & Bobby at his house and gets into an argument with Don about Sally cutting her hair. She makes the comment to Mr.Francis "you're easy" after he calms her down....pretty much declaring the Mr.Francis is a pushover.
I found that seen very telling about the future of their relationship.
yes but there are also a few instances where Henry puts her in her place and she acquiesces. at least he cares enough to try and help her see where she's wrong. Don usually just shrugged his shoulders because he was too preoccupied with all of his angst.

SPOILERS**
he knowingly pursued a married woman with three kids. douche move, IMO. you could see his guilt come through during their meeting with the lawyer.

well Betty lost her mom at a pretty young age. and she herself was young when she had her first child. being plucked off the streets of Manhattan and going from single model to housewife is a huge transition. Don should have known when he picked out his perfect image of a suburban wife that she would need more attention and affection than he gives her.
product of the times though. or so the show would have us believe.
I said this along time ago. Bett Francis was a housewife way before she wanted to be. That's why she has such a disconnect with her children (especially Sally). She's a product of having a mother who verbally abused her and shes turned that hatred towards her mother (plus Drapers running around) on her kids.
FWIW, my favorite housewife on the show is Trudy Campbell. She's smoking hot
I also feel that the new Mrs.Draper has a better way of handling things with the three kids.

i agree. part of it surely has to do with Sally herself becoming a more mature young woman.

they don't start shooting until September. i think she's pretty far along in her pregnancy.

well looks like my sources were wrong. this was JUST posted today
Filming to begin next week

Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner has always been unpredictable to say the least, so this could go one of many ways. The married Betty Draper, played by January, could of course be pregnant and it would make sense. Or the pregnancy could be hidden, though it seems unlikely the show would go that way.
Another option of course is to wait to film January’s scenes until after she has her child, which will be born in November. The show will not premiere until early 2012 so it is a possibility.
And, of course, many fans may be hoping Betty managed to walk off a cliff or lay in traffic prior to the start of the season and be no more.
