Another interesting tidbit - there is a film that is sometimes overlooked (and many of us hate/boycott Jane Fonda) but it is called California Suite - a series of, more or less, indepedent vignettes taking place at the titular hotel.

One of the stories pairs Maggie Smith and Michael Caine, playing a British actress and closeted gay husband, who are in town because of the Oscar ceremony, as Smith's character is a first time nominee. I like the irony of an actress who already won the Oscar for best actress, IRL, winning the best supporting actress Oscar for playing a best actress "loser".

Smith and Caine are good enough reasons to watch the film. If you really can't stand Hanoi Jane (and I can't, despite her tremendous talent), just skip her and the insufferable Alan Alda's scenes.

The film also has Walter Matthau (always delivers) and a rare pairing of Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor, for those of you unfamiliar with the film.
