Interesting movie I watched last night on Prime - for the most part, true to the Raymond Chandler novel. Robert Montegomery directed the film and gets top billing as Philip Marlowe but is only seen when he delivers an aside to the audience or when his character sees his reflection in a mirror (the entire movie is shot as a POV from Marlowe's perspective).
Audrey Totter excellent in her role as the femme fatale:

Great movie. The noir genre is one that peaked back in the 40's and 50's. Some really good modern ones but not like that period. My favorite of all time is actually cheaply shot Detour from 1945.
