This one is not horrible because it is not realistic. It's just horrible.
Characters have no depth. Plot is awful.
A sad ending for Indy.

I really don't get all the hate for this movie, Temple of Doom is so much worse than Kingdom of The Crystal Skull.

Swinging with monkeys.

This movie should have been one of those "straight to DVD" films.

Nobody ever bitches about Indiana jones, a kid, and some chick jumping out of an airplane, inflating a raft mid-air, hitting the ground perfectly (and uninjured), sliding down a mountain 100 mph without really hitting anything, going off a cliff a few hundren feet and hitting dangerous white water rafts without problem...all in the same scene.
At least the scene was accomplished without CGI effects.

Temple of Doom had a plot with the little slave kids where there was a true good vs. evil that you were pulling for.
And the little kid and the female lead were so much more interesting than Crystal Skull.

KALIBA SHO DEE DAY
I was saying that all weekend for some reason.
And KotCS wasn't good. Not because it was unrealistic, which is a staple in Indiana Jones movies, but because it was so ridiculously over-the-top unrealistic and stupid that even a suspension of belief isn't good enough to buy into it.
Nuke/fridge, CGI ants, CGI monkey swinging, car sword fights, shooting and hitting nothing, driving cars into trees, three waterfalls, aliens, etc. All of it combined made it suck.
And as much as I don't like the alien angle, the crystal skulls are real things, and are cool to read about. So the idea of it being imbedded into the IJ world isn't THAT crazy. It was just poorly done and poorly executed. I've always wanted to go back and rewatch KotCS start-to-finish and try to be as unbiased as I can be, but I never feel like actually dedicating the time to do it. And then I see it on TV and catch things that remind me as to why I don't.
