I don’t disagree with this and i think this one did a perfect job of eliminating that paradox. You can’t go outside your timeline and establishing the butterfly effect early on.
Within his first couple of jumps he realizes that he can’t enforce his will upon the timeline and gives you a moral cause for using the ability early on.
By the end he only uses it to relive a day without any changes to appreciate his life.
As silly as it is and as many time travel movie out there, I feel like this one keeps a tighter reign than any other.
