Now on TNT. Dude is the most successful and made the most recognizable and iconic movie scores ever. His resume is simply ridiculous and the A listers paying tribute is great. Williams is one the true talents responsible for why we all love these movies so much.

i have no idea how you can create one masterpiece after another. That resume is ridiculous

The fact that he has been nominated for 50 Oscars and only won 5 is ridiculous.

I know teaming with Spielberg and Lucas has greatly benefited his career but simply put without Williams those movies are not anywhere close to as memorable or as good.

Possibly has the greatest resume of work of anyone in their respective fields in the entertainment industry

It's true.
Turn the volume off during some of these films and watch them without musical score (chances are you know the dialogue). It's amazing how static some of them seem.
John Williams was especially vital for a filmmaker like Steven Spielberg who relied on childlike imagination and elements of fantasy for so many motion pictures.

Don't know how it took so long, but he's tGOAT.

Most of his work was certainly with Speilberg and Lucas, but let's not forget what may be the most iconic piece he ever made--the Superman theme. That was directed by Richard Donner. In 1978. Not sure how much he really worked with any other director or producer after that. Maybe none.
Was the show good? I've got it DVR'd. Also, there's a video out there somewhere with him and Speilberg being interviewed a few years ago. Really cool to hear how their relationship worked.

Best part was their playing his "Award Ceremony March" from Star Wars as he walked up to get his trophy.
They should've piped in audio of Chewie roaring after his acceptance speech.

As far as non-Spielberg/Lucas, don't forget about Harry Potter. Fantastic music there too!

The vast majority of this board has probably never seen it, but his score to Rosewood was also amazing.
