a complete remake of the original SW only with an incomprehensible story featuring an almost all female cast who aren't funny and making references to the old movie (original SW characters) as jokes, aka luke tossing the lightsaber, yoda showing up and laughing like a drunk sailor.

i finally 'get it'. hollywood was pissed off at how ghostbusters was treated by us kids from the 1980s who loved the original so they decided to really rub our faces in dog feces by doing SW over in the same way.

You're thinking of TFA. Everyone here loves that movie. Its full of nostalgia and things we've seen before.

no, the original SW characters in TFA actually were involved in the story.

I wasn't a fan of TLJ. I certainly noticed that all of the main characters were chicks and they were constantly womansplaining to the hot headed irrational bumbling males.

That was only about 3% of what I hated about the movie but it was definitely there. There was just so much to hate.

And I don't hate on the new iteration. I loved Rogue One and even though it was predictable, I enjoyed Awakens.

TLJ might be worse than Phantom Menace. I know folks hate Clones more than Menace, but I really didn't like Menace. Honestly think this one will be the worst in my book. Mainly for the failed opportunities and somewhat easy fixes to make it remarkably better.

The difference is that I still haven't and won't watch the 2016 movie that called itself Ghostbusters.

I did watch The Last Jedi.

This.

I mean once you have seen the trailer - even if you were stuck on a 19-hour flight to Egypt and a vomit bag in the seat in front of you as your only reading material.

I still wouldn't watch the in-flight movie of the New Ghosbusters.

I saw 2016 Ghostbusters and it was funny. Funnier than the originals.
