Iron chef America: What the hell?

When did they change the format? This is stupid. I love Chopped but they made Iron Chef to resemble chopped which is just stupid.
Instead of two chefs in hectic battle preparing 6-7 dishes in an hour, they now do one dish at a time within shorter time frame, exactly like Chopped.
This is depressing

I agree. Not a big fan of the format either. And although I like Alton Brown, now there's wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much of him. He's one of those personalities that's great in smaller dosages.

i think this is a pre-iron chef challenge and the winner will enter the mega iron chef ring

Food network has become nothing more than the food gaming channel, and all of their game shows follow the exact same format. It's quite sad. I haven't turned on that channel in quite some time now

He was much better on Good Eats. They need to bring that back.

Supposedly they are. It started as his own effort, and he was going to produce it himself for YouTube, but then Food Network signed on and it was set to come back this year. However, there’s been total radio silence on it for a while now, so I’m not sure where it stands anymore. Love Good Eats. We leave the DVR set for it.

Yeah, I don’t like this format. I miss Cutthroat Kitchen!

It was good but started to go off the rails. The crawfish episode... A bubbler and aquarium to purge crawfish wtf. And I think he faked eating one.
Also, a ladder and pulley to deep fry a turkey
