Kind of tangential, but I’ve lost some faith in Netflix docs after watching a couple. I don’t think anyone vets these before they are released. Maybe all documentaries are really just propaganda and always have been and I just never realized it.

Been true for a long time. The filmmakers want you to come to a particular conclusion and hide under the guise of "objectivity" because it's classified as a documentary.

Michael Moore is a great example of heavily biased filmmaker.

I watched Thirteenth and it really bothers me that people believe all that stuff is gospel. I counted at least 2 dozen factual inaccuracies and intentionally misleading comments within the first 20 minutes. I watched it after reading New Jim Crow, and was pretty disappointed.

Ken Burns is another. He's just a lot better at being subtle about it than Michael Moore is.
