I hate that Hopkins as hannibal was ultimately so good that it took all the focus away and has more or less been about him since.
I dont really enjoy things centered about him, I like him in doses and think he works best sorta as a phantom of the opera, in a way.
That movie had potentials for rich storylines. I'd like to have seen more of Jame Gumb's doings. shite even got political, would have been a crazy 10 1+ hr episodes.

I didn't dislike the series. However, it only lasted two seasons and was scrapped by Fox. That's what I meant in that it "didn't work."

They fricked up bigly by putting it on Fox Friday nights following Hell's Kitchen. That show should have been on FX either leading into or following American Horror Story. If they were so convinced it should have aired on network Fox it should have been aired after Lucifer on Monday nights or been paired with Scream Queens which for some weird arse reason they aired on Tuesdays after Brooklyn 99 and New Girl.
