Shut your mouth, it was a good show...from what I remember. And it aired on CBS too.

Amazon has the book.

Night Sins

Deer Lake is a small Minnesota town where people know their neighbours and crime is something that happens on the evening news. But the illusion of safety is shattered when eight-year-old Josh Kirkwood disappears from a hockey rink as he waits for his mother to pick him up after practice. The only thing the police find is his duffel bag with a note stuffed inside, `Ignorance is not innocence but SIN`. With each passing hour the search for Josh takes on a more ominus intensity. For Megan O`Malley, the new regional officer of the state criminal investigative unit, it is a test of whether she can cut it in the all-male world of local cops. For police chief Mitch Holt, it is a frightening reminder of the big city crime that devastated his life before he fled to Deer Lake.

I don't remember anything about an abduction though, but it's the strongest candidate I've seen.

FBI agent Megan O'Malley has no idea what she's up against when she takes over jurisdiction in the small town of Dear Lake. When a young boy vanishes, her investigation uncovers a whole slew of kidnappings and murders dating back more than 20 years. Good thing the local police chief is by her side to crack the case — and to spice up Megan's love life!

Blonde woman, ice rink, murders, kidnapping, history going back 20 years.

If this isn't it; it's one creepy doppelganger.

She and the guy playing the deputy seem familiar.

I'm with you...damn the OP!

Once I get asked a Movie/TV question, it gnaws at me. And this actually sounds pretty good.

"Reminiscent of the "best" of David Lynch, the two-part TV movie Night Sins uses a mysterious abduction as catalyst for a progressively bizarre and disturbing expose of small-town corruption, hypocrisy and perversion."

It sounds a lot like Happy Town that aired a year or so ago. It wasn't a miniseries per se, but wound up being one due to so few episodes. But surely you wouldn't be that far off on the years, right?

Nah, it's definitely older than that.
