England, 1603. After the death of Elizabeth I, English Catholics are persecuted and mass is forbidden under the rule of King James I. When the King's Men commit a gruesome atrocity, a young nobleman, Robert Catesby, resolves to avenge his kin and defend his faith by any means necessary.

Let's watch John Snow play the exact same character only this time he wants to raise an army to fight the filthy brits!

I know jack shite about the history of these events so please don't come in talking about what obviously will happen and being a snobbish prick.

I was bored, but it was well made.

Yes, that execution scene was rough...

Maybe I just don't find religious stuff very interesting, not sure.

Is Harrington's question Guy Fawkes? If so, I guess that was an assumed name of some kind?

Watched this last night and really enjoyed it. The execution scenes were brutal. As far as I can tell they tried to keep this close to historical and show the brutality the English Protestant rule had against the Catholics and their distain for the Pope.

decent period piece ... hard to get interested in the stupidity of religious persecution since all sides of all religions have done the same thing ...

There is a better two part series on Netflix called “Gunpowder, Treason, and Plot” that came out in 2004. You should check it out if you liked this latest “Gunpowder” three part series.
