For those who watch Glee, is this a 'good' episode?
This has been the best episode in a while IMO.

Realism has never been a concern for Glee. The point is to make a fun show, not something that takes itself seriously.

Exactly.

This is the biggest pile of manure that Glee has showed so far. I mean come on. "OMG! What are we going to do if we don't have a halftime show?" Oh I don't know, maybe just completely go on ahead with the game?
I've defended this show so often but this episode was crap.

The show addressed that, with the coach saying something along the lines that it was a matter of pride. Even if that line of reasoning isn't all that great, you're again missing the point of the show if that kind of thing interferes with your enjoyment of it.
Lots of stuff that happens in the show is unrealistic. The head of the cheer leading squad buys a cannon and the principal allows her to shoot a kid out of it if she (not her parents) signs a release form? I don't think so. Plus, half the time a musical number pops up it's done on a huge stage with perfect lighting and a band in the background.
For Glee, I'd suggest just putting your logical reasoning skills on hold and enjoy the ride.

People get more pissed off about the football stuff on Glee than anything else.
Everyone hated the Single Ladies dance on the football field in season 1.

This is what's fun about this show IMO. It doesn't take itself seriously.

I usually enjoy the show but that was terrible

it can be entertaining... but when they totally mess with the integrity of the greatest game on the planet.... no single lady field goals, and no football team half time shows... other than that be as gay as you want... i mean heck it already has mor gays on tv than any other show i can remember on network television.

Kurt is the only gay character on this show I think.

I could give two shits about football, but it was obvious they were playing the Michael Bay card tonight trying to blow the post-SB audience away with big effects and make up and songs and shite, all the while abandoning the most likable part of the show (Sue Sylvester's humor) and putting together a really incoherent script.
I don't care about the lack of realism, but it was obviously an episode for people who never watch the show. Which sucks b/c the best episodes are the ones that are lower key and more earnest (or the ones with good guest, i.e. NPH)

True. They definitely tried to do it big for the super bowl audience. I'm sure they will return to their usual type of episodes on Tuesday.

Kurt's gay, the football player who harasses kurt is gay, kurt's new friend is gay... and Sue is either gay or asexual.... the actress is gay so i will just go ahead and say Sue is gay as well.

I think my favorite part of the episode was when Katie Couric was listing the people Sue beat for biggest disappointment of the year. Particularly because after the Gwenyth Palthrow episode Lindsay Lohan's people gave Glee a ton of shite for making fun of her, then Katie Couric made fun of Dina Lohan last night so it was a nice boom to that disgrace of a family.
Becky Jackson is so adorable, every time she gets screentime she makes me smile.

I watched Glee Sunday for the first time since the initial episodes from season one and good lord this thing has morphed itself into one of the worst shows imaginable. It is absolutely horrible beyond description.

"Have you ever seen a football game? It hurts when you get tackled"
"And not in a Mellancamp kind of way"
I was rolling for that...and Brittany...as always.
"I'm torn."
"I'm not."
"I'm Brittany."
