I’ve read all the books and I’ve accepted that he won’t finish them. Hell, the last book added more characters and questions than it did away with.

To me that's the real problem, the minor characters keep growing exponentially while he avoids tackling the important areas of the story. I honestly don't care whether he finishes it or not; after A Dance With Dragons I'm done.
