A good watch. It is astounding the links people go to to achieve a certain status among their social circle of friends.
All the like, it is also very interesting to see people who have more money than they will ever need just be every day guys, you could never tell they were loaded.
Good flick that captures our insatiable appetite to be “rich” and what influences our envy of others.

Wealth and social status is nothing new to any certain "generation."
The longing for sociatal privelages brought on by money and power is as old as humanity itself. It's who we are. It won't change. Only by total authoritarian regimes like old feudalism or communism is it even curbed and that's only because of fear of death.
The fame part is basically only since the advent of the printing press... Some 500 yrs ago. No matter the economical system, the desire to up your standing among the world you live is not common to one era or another.
Its just been thrown so much more in our faces now with modern technologies.

It's a sickness people are conditioned into from birth to make them good little consumers and workers. You have to see through the charade to disentangle yourself from it.

I won’t disagree, unfortunately our culture celebrates this behavior.
That’s new.

The title “Generation” isn’t implying it’s something new. Calm your tits

Culture is a choice.

Not really
Culture conditions a child at early age what they should consider as a value.
If you are born into a certain valueset, it is quite difficult to develop a higher level awareness evaluating/questioning what you have been taught
