I think with him it is the truth. He walked away from acting 20 years ago and never returned despite being offered. And let's face it, movies today far exceed movies of the past in terms of monetary figures.

And he's right. His wonka is a true classic. And I love burton and depp but the remake was horrid


And fwiw silver streak and the prison movie with him and Pryor are fantastic guilty pleasures

Old one = one of my childhood/current favorites.

New one was fricking turrible. I never gave it a second chance, so may e I'd like it a bit more if I tired viewing it again, but honestly I don't think I ever will.
