I've read the second book up to about halfway. I have a question for anyone who has read much further. Barristan Selmy kinda disappeared after Cersei and Joffrey disappeared. I find him to be one of the more intriquing characters and i was wondering if he ever turns up again or if he just fades out into hiding or smthg??

He has a prominent place in the series. Even became a POV character in the latest book.

Yes it is. Sure gays have sex IRL but traditionally such behavior has been looked down upon as perverted and deviant. Portraying it on tv and getting everyone to be ok with it is part of the agenda to normalize such behavior.
I can't believe this bullshite show is trying to normalize incest, child murders, beheadings, and god damn dragons too.

If you consider rational realists to be weirdos I guess I fit that bill.
in my experience most "rational realists" don't use the phrase "gay agenda".

Haha what is that even supposed to mean? That the movies I like can't be good because I like them?
Whatever. You sound mad.

Excellent. Thanks

You must admit that show like True Blood and 6 Feet Under fit this bill. I watch True Blood and enjoy the show but I also believe there is an agenda being promoted.
I've never seen either, but I'm familiar with their reputations, but no, I don't have to admit that's true. I believe they show it because they can, too push the envelope because it's cable. But in no way do I think they are trying to promote anything to me. I guess I'm not sensitive enough.

Do you really want to know?
Spoiler (HTML test website, only up for four hours)
went through all that and someone just put it out there with no spoiler tag.

So you think any show with gay characters is promoting an agenda?

No. I just dont agree with a lot of your opinions. Is it so hard to believe that?

Getting all worked up over a TV network showing something that is blatantly alluded to in the source material is "rational?"

Yeah, I mean it had two guys kissing..
Who cares about the baby that got a sword stuck through it, or the brother sister sex scene?

I wouldn't necessarily consider Danny to be "secondary" this season. Sure, she's still in the east lands, but regardless she is 100 percent a queen (khaleesi) with ambitions far greater than any of the 5 kings...
Her story is about to get far more interesting...

Haha. No thanks. Ill get there eventually. I was hoping he'd come back, but wasnt sure bc he literally fell off the face of the earth after being 'fired' and he's one of the most prominent knights in the realm, so I was just wondering if he re-appeared. Good to know

Kinda since you seem to like a lot of the same movie and genres that I do.
But again, whatever.

IMo her story is secondary in the books. You know something big will come from her, but it's like nothing she has done (yet) impacts Westeros, only Essos and Essos isn't the land the story is centered on.

Both made by Alan Ball and homosexuality is also not thrown into those those for the hell of it. Lafayette and David Fisher are respectively imo the best characters on those shows and being gay is a pretty prominent part of who they are.

Completely disagree.
If anything, she's the one of the four central characters in the books.
Her storyline had a bit of a lull in the beginning of ACOK but really picks up and is unbelievable in ASOS. I have a feeling the show is going progress her ASOS story this season.

Its actually very interesting how he comes back into the folds of things. Took me unexpedcted in the books

Sure, but I still consider her a contender, though most people in Westeros aren't aware of her existence at this point...
Yet, her story is still one of the most fascinating, even in this season. All I have to say is House of the...
Oh, nevermind. That would be a spoiler.
