ASM and Spider-Man were both good. I enjoyed both. Spiderman is supposed to be a little cheesy so I didn't go into it expecting it to be the dark knight.
I know most critics on here are just trolls, but for people who literally don't enjoy half the movies they watch then why watch anything?

You're missing the point. Cheesy isn't bad if that's what the movie is going for and is consistent with it. The Sam Raimi movies with the exception of 3 did that wonderfully and so did The Avengers. The Dark Knight trilogy went in the exact opposite direction and went for realism, and that was great too. This movie tried to do both and it just doesn't work.
If you make a movie with all these serious, dramatic elements of Peter Parker dealing with his relationships, then you can't just throw in some dumb stupid lizard monster that he has to fight and expect those two conflicting ideas to mesh well. The mere idea of a giant lizard monster trying to turn everybody else into lizard monsters is cheesy, schlocky, stupid, fun, etc. and it certainly doesn't belong in a movie that is trying to be more serious in tone.
I brought up that scene where Parker goes to the police because that's the point where those two ideas come together and the writers clearly did not know how to handle it. For an example of that scene done well because the movie is cheesy you should watch Gremlins again.

I love movies and I usually try to not watch anything I wouldn't enjoy, but I saw this film with family so there was nothing I could do. Also, I am completely serious about everything I've said here.
